St. Clair West Area/Wychwood:

The Stop Community Food Centre

The Stop Community Food Centre strives to increase access to healthy food in a manner that maintains dignity, builds health and community, and challenges inequality.

For over 30 years, The Stop has been at the forefront of dignified, innovative programs that provide access to healthy food; build skills, health, hope, and community; and confront the underlying issues that lead to poverty and hunger. Our wide range of programs includes drop-in meals, a food bank, community kitchens and gardens, perinatal and family support, civic engagement, and children and youth engagement.

Taylor-Massey:

Access Alliance

Access Alliance provides services and addresses system inequities to improve health outcomes for the most vulnerable immigrants, refugees, and their communities. Our commitment is to challenge systemic barriers that reduce health outcomes for vulnerable populations.  Green Access promotes environmental awareness and makes the links between community health, capacity building, food sustainability and urban agriculture. In the context of a Community Health Centre, the rooftop garden and Green Access Program are used to support and strengthen health outcomes.

Parkdale:

Greenest City

Since inception in 1996, Greenest City has worked with Toronto’s communities to take action to improve air quality, better the health of residents, regenerate urban life and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As a charitable organization, we are dedicated to creating innovative projects that promote health, support community action, and enhance social and environmental justice in Toronto. Our programs create opportunities for social and environmental change by equipping and inspiring residents of all ages and backgrounds to achieve local solutions to improve the state of the environment. Our four main areas of focus include urban agriculture/food security, environmental education, community engagement and growing a green economy.
